Flexibility and Elasticity

There is a significant difference in elasticity between stainless steel and NiTi-alloy. For example, you can test this yourself by bending a size 30 NiTi-file around a pencil. You will see the superior flexibility.
NiTi S-files are extremely flexible and can be subjected to up to 10 times as much stress as standard files as shown by a number of tests (5).


Cost effective NiTi-files

NiTi S-files cost slightly more than stainless steel files, but are extremely sharp and remain sharper longer.
These qualities make them more cost effective than stainless steel files and give you true value (3).

Reduced risk of ledging

The extreme flexibility and elasticity of NiTi-S files gives excellent advantages
for the dental profession. Many reports show that “ledging, transportation, apex perforations, and
post operative pain are reduced” (3).
